Sometimes you want to dig a little deeper. We offer a series of on-board multimedia talks to shed light on the history and culture of the places you visit. Topics may include a history of Thailand, Myanmar and the Burmese people, and key words and phrases in the local languages. These presentations provide a context for your own observations, enhancing your travel experience.

Step aboard the RV Princess Panhwar and discover Burma in premium style and comfort. This boutique vessel is new for 2015, boasting sophisticated design and outstanding facilities – while ensuring a remarkable and unique Irrawaddy River cruise experience.

The RV Princess Panhwar was specifically built to provide the most gratifying and immersive on-board experience imaginable. The air-conditioned lounge offers magnificent views, while the Sun Deck is a great location from which to soak up the passing riverside scenery. Or, you may like to be pampered with a massage in the ship’s spa.

Accommodation

The RV Princess Panhwar has 36 staterooms and suites, each featuring a French Balcony or an Outside Balcony. Designed with your absolute convenience and comfort in mind, every room is air-conditioned and offers state-of-the-art appointments, while being among the largest on the Irrawaddy River. 

Each suite or stateroom contains twin beds or a queen-size bed; an ensuite; air-conditioning; desk/dressing table; a safe; bathrobes and slippers. You’ll also enjoy a flat-screen television in your own room.

On Board

On your cruise, exciting daily itineraries and shore excursions are enhanced by an impressive selected of on-board entertainment. Perhaps you might like to attend informative lectures by local guides on Burmese culture and history. On select evenings, you are also able to enjoy cultural performances, including a traditional puppet show.

R/V Paukan

A famous sight sailing the Irrawaddy, the R/V Paukan was built in 2007; and so has time to cultivate the expectations of those travellers wanting to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Irrawaddy, without the showcase of some of the newer ships. Perfectly designed to sail this fantastic river, this vessel has a warm feel, exuded throughout the cabins and public areas by its dark teak panelling, and exceptional use of colour; all traditional of the Burmese style.

Located on both the main and upper decks, cabins are finished to a high standard; all lined with polished teak, each offers sophisticated mix of Burmese style with a colonial elements. 14 Deluxe Cabins are located on the upper deck, which offer more room with premium views and private balconies, a minibar and tea and coffee facilities are provided. Superior cabins are on the main deck, which accessed by exterior gangways, each has a window and exterior door with a relaxing chair positioned just outside for your exclusive use. For the ultimate experience, there are two Suite cabins, again located on the upper deck, however are at the bow of the ship; each offers a huge 40 square meters, and has surrounding views and private balcony.  

Public guest areas on the ship have been thoughtfully designed to make the most out of leisure time. Life on-board is predominately spent on the sun-deck, a huge area with air-conditioned saloon bar, outdoor bar with alfresco lounge, and a wheelhouse. Loungers are placed for prime scenery spotting, and there is a large stage for cultural shows; each area boasts commanding views to the river and beyond.

Service on board is warm and friendly; in the main deck restaurant, tables are large with open seating, evoking true Burmese style and colours. Cuisine is international with regionally inspired dishes; dinner each evening is always a sit-down affair, served off the a la carte menu.

The R/V Paukan is a deserving choice for sailing this unexplored river.
