Marrakech
Marrakech is one of Morocco’s most vibrant and exciting cities. It presents the visitor with a full-on assault to the senses – vibrant colours, a cacophony of noise, exotic aromas – as the ever-changing tableau of human activity unfolds before you. Jemaa el Fna Square is at the heart of the Medina a hive of bustling activity, crammed with street vendors, stalls and entertainers. Snake-charmers, musicians and fortune-tellers vie for trade with those selling delicious local specialities to tempt your palate. The Souq is a labyrinth of stalls and workshops where age-old traditional crafts are practised.
There are so many sights to see and places to visit that you may feel you are spoiled for choice. The constant hubbub of activity is exhilarating but also tiring, which is why it makes sense to plan to combine a little time for relaxing with your stay in Marrakech. That way you can have an exciting holiday but also return home refreshed with your batteries fully recharged.
High Atlas Mountains
What could be better than to combine the hustle and bustle of the city, with the serene and tranquil beauty of the High Atlas Mountains. The contrast between the busy city and the dramatic mountain scenery could not be greater.
Going from the narrow streets of the Medina to the endless mountain vistas is an incredible experience – especially given the fact that it is only approximately an hour’s drive away. When in the mountains, you will have the opportunity to relax and soak up the sun with a good book or spend your time walking, rambling through the beautiful countryside and discovering the fascinating local Berber culture and history.

Morocco Explorer
3 nights High Atlas Mountains, 3 nights Marrakech, 3 nights Essaouira
A fantastic, relaxing holiday, combining a stay in Marrakech with a visit to the High Atlas Mountains and ending with a few days in the historic resort of Essaouira.
Day 1 - High Atlas Mountains
Fly to Marrakech direct from the UK. Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to The High Atlas Mountains and check in to your chosen hotel.
Day 2 & 3 - High Atlas Mountains
Spend the day at leisure, exploring independently or take an optional ramble and sightseeing tour accompanied by a Moroccan mountain guide. These take approximately 5½ hours and should be suitable for anyone who leads a reasonably active life. They allow you to explore the stunning mountain scenery and gain an insight into the local Berber culture. Visit mountain fortresses, strongholds and villages and witness the age-old industries of salt-mining and olive oil pressing.
Day 4 - Marrakech
After breakfast depart the High Atlas Mountains for the hour’s drive to Marrakech and check into your chosen hotel.
Day 5 - Marrakech
After breakfast take an optional half day tour to visit the historic sites of old Marrakech including the impressive Almohad Koutoubia Minaret; the Menara Gardens; the lavishly-decorated Saadien Tombs; the Badii Palace and the labyrinth of narrow alleys which make up the renowned souqs finishing your tour in the vibrant Jemaa el Fna Square. Lunch and afternoon at leisure or you can choose to extend your tour to a full day tour including lunch.
Day 6 - Marrakech
Spend the day at leisure.
Day 7 - Marrakech to Essaouira
After breakfast depart Marrakech for Essaouira and check into your chosen hotel.
Day 8 and 9 - Essaouira
Spend your time relaxing, exploring the narrow streets of the medina independently, visiting the souq with its enticing array of local crafts or admiring the impressive views from the ancient fortress.
Day 10 - Return to UK
Transfer from Essaouira to Marrakech International Airport for your flight back to the UK.

Flight from UK to Marrakech; 3 night stay in the High Atlas Mountains at L’Oliveraie including breakfast a 3 night stay in Marrakech at Les Borjs de la Kasbah. 3 nights stay in Essaouira at Dar L’Oussia including breakfast. Private transfers in air-conditioned car from/to airports and inter-hotel transfers. Excursions detailed above are optional and not included in the cost of your holiday. Please ask if you would like costs for excursions. We have based our prices on set accommodation, but if you would like to choose a different hotel then just call our friendly and experienced reservations staff and we will do our best to tailor a combination to suit you.
